Last week while driving to satisfy a Chicken Shack craving, I noticed Olga's Fresh Market Grille on Woodward in Royal Oak. I thought it was strange, because I had been up that way just a few days before and didn't notice it. Of course, I had to try it as soon as possible, and that day was today. I went to check the menu online so I could call in my order and found that they offer online ordering. Even better. Usually, when I go to Olga's, I get The Olga - the gyro, basically. I don't get too fancy. But I wanted something green in my meal so I decided to try the Arugula Salad from the Small Plates menu. From other reviews here, I knew that this location is something new for the chain, so I had an idea of what to expect when I walked in. There was a little bit of confusion when I was trying to get my order after I paid, but they worked it out quickly. As for the food, The Olga was perfect, as were the curly fries. The big deal though, was the Arugula Salad. Holy crap. It's arugula, tomato bruschetta, feta, bacon, red onion, and an oil-based dressing. If they served a full-size version, I would probably get it at least once a week for lunch. It was freakin' fantastic. I might even go again tomorrow and get that and some snackers. Another review complained about how small it was for the price ($2.99). I don't know if they made them bigger since then, but it was definitely more than "four forkfuls."

No need to go to any other location. This store is constantly improving since the day they opened. They listen to every suggestion and improve. This is by far the best carry out too. Everyone is extremely friendly and always smiling. Thank you Olga's!

This is the first in 20 years that I visited an Olga's. I must say I was impressed. The original Olga sandwich was decent, but not seasoned enough. The spinach soup was delicious and typically I am not a huge fan of creamy soups. The curly fries were room temperature and they were not seasoned well. The salad was a lightly flavored with a vinegar and oil dressing...very bland tasting. The snackers were the perfect compliment to the creamy and delightful spinach soup. So what are the three stars for? The food was better than McDonalds, about the same price as McDonald's, and the service that I received was great. My sister ordered the brownie with ice cream and nuts. That was probably the best part of the meal, outside of the soup. The place was clean, the staff was attentive and friendly. I like the layout, the fact that it is primarily self serve. I have driven by this place for years and never stopped in until today. The food could be better and served at a warmer temperature - that would satisfy me more. Overall, it's decent food, not great food, for a decent, not great price. I will be back, but I won't go out of my way to eat here and I will not tell any of my friends about Olga's.

Great food. Bad service. It's a broken record when it comes to the takeout service. I won't do it again. My Olaga had crusty hard meat, missing items from the order or not made as requested. Such a disappointment, for the 10th time...

4th day of being open...I'm excited, I love olgas! I arrived 10 minutes after opening...lots of employee's running around...I was the only customer in the place...I ordered a salad and spinach pie and lemonade to go. It took 15 minutes for me to get my order, my salad was so very small, the bowl wasn't even full, it was 4 fork fulls and my spinach pie...sadly cold...not a great experience, but I will try again when they get more settled in.

I am a big fan of Olgas, I go at least once per week. Have been waiting to try this new location since it opened, finally saw an opportunity it didn't seem too busy. I ordered the Peasant soup which usually comes with Snackers, at this location it was an extra cost over 2 dollars, was very disappointed. I am used to the smaller sized Olga which comes with Fries, not offered at this location. I don't think I will visit again, will go up to Oakland Mall where I can get more for my money. Debra

I'm not understanding all of the complaints for the poor service... this Olga's has a completely different concept than all the other restaurants. This location is a cafeteria style restaurant, just like Panera or Qdoba- what's so difficult to understand about that? You order your food, they give you a number, you get your drink and sit down. They deliver your food, ask if everything is correct, and if you have a problem you ask! I don't get how people are writing poor reviews expecting a waiter or waitress- that's not how this location is set up. How can you review something that is not offered? It's not the workers faults you don't get the concept. With that being said, I've been pretty faithful to Olga's market fresh grille. I take the kids I work with in here every saturday or every other saturday on a pretty regular basis. One of my work kids is handicapped, and everyone that works there has always been so helpful and they have definitely gone above and beyond assisting me whether it be opening doors, bringing us extra napkins, consistently removing empty bowls and plates, etc. I've gone in here many times with my boyfriend as well, and we've always had great experiences. Our food has always come out quick- our longest wait was probably 10 minutes at most. The managers are very friendly, and often hand out buy one get one free coupons which I love! The food is great, just as it's always been since I was a kid. The menu has changed a little bit... They've made a lot of updates bringing in new options, but still keeping all the classic sandwiches. I personally think it's for the better- I'm always up for trying new things, and so far I can't complain! Recommendations: Snackers, Asian chicken sandwich, Turkey club sandwich

I believe it is only day 2 for this location, but it is off to an inauspicious start. I tried 4 times to call in a carry-out order. The first time I reached a person but was then put on hold for over 10 minutes until I hung up. The other three times I got an automated response, saying that a server would be with me shortly. But in each case I was disconnected after a minute or so. First impressions matter and this one was not good.

Disappointed. The zucchini fries were very soggy from all the grease; chicken wrap had brown lettuce and the chicken did not taste good. Cost seems too high considering the lack of quality.

Very disappointing. Called in $38. order. Watched our food sit on the counter, then moved to another counter, then bagged and left on the counter. Finally got food, drove 1.5 miles home only to find out we had very cold fries and no dip for 2 orders of snackers. I'm done with Olga's. Too many other choices.

I LOVE this place! I come here at least once a week for lunch and the bread is always fluffy and fresh. The cookies are always good and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place. Also, sign up for the Olga's rewards card, I always get coupons.

I had a Tuscan Steakburger today, and it was fantastic. The service was great-friendly and quick, and the food was wonderful. My only complaint-the a/c was up just a little to high.

First time at a Fresh Market Grill of the Olga's variety. Slightly different premise but basically the same menu. I stopped in for a quick take out lunch. I ordered the combo which came with a small Mediterranean pita, small Olga salad and zucchini fries. Let's start with the pros: Mediterranean pita was excellent in flavor and quantity. It was really jammed packed with chicken. The zucchini fries were super delicious and the dipping sauce was so yummy I could eat it by itself. The sauce seemed to have a horseradish kick to it, giving it some extra spice! My order was always ready very quickly, less than 10 mins. Now the cons: the salad!! I mean seriously how can a Greek salad be bad? But it was! Mostly because the dressing was so full of oregano or something of that sort that I was choking on it. It was just not appetizing. The good news is that I was full from the pita and zucchini fries so I didn't care that much!

Olga's, as a chain, is one of my favorites. However, I am only a moderate fan of the Fresh Market Grilles, which is what this location is. Regular Olga's restaurants are your standard, sit-down places. This one is more like a Noodles & Company. You go up to the counter and order, then take a number to your table and they bring your food out to you and clean up your table afterwards. I still haven't figured out whether you're supposed to leave a tip here (I've been taking Noodles & Co.'s rules and not leaving a tip...). While I love not having to leave a tip (?), the amount that you would tip seems to be built into the price of the food here- I've never compared side-by-side but it seems like everything on the menu is slightly more expensive than what it would be at a regular Olga's. The only other downside is that due to the nature of this location, there is no unlimited soup, salad, and snackers. That's my favorite thing to order normally. So overall it's a nice option to have, but if I'm not in a hurry I prefer the regular Olga's restaurants.

When I am in town from the DC area, I try to make it to Olga's at least three times. Yeah, I love it that much. I went to the Olga's in Troy for lunch on Wednesday. Everything was fantastic. I came here around 8pm yesterday and it was a different story. I was informed they were out of zucchini fries. Okay, I understand not wanting to make a new batch two hours before closing, so we ordered the "curly" fries. They were awful. Mildly luke warm, and bits and pieces. I didn't bother to complain since they are just $1.79 when you order an Olga. My usual, the only Olga I haver ever had since 1975, the three cheese was also lukewarm and the cheese wasn't completely melted. Now I know why my order came out so quickly. Since it was past 8 o'clock, I was too hungry to complain. My mom thought her Original was saltier than the one she had the day before in Troy. Yesterday was 'Throwback Thursday' so her Olga was only $4.45 and her salad (with way too much dressing) was $2.89. I still LOVE Olga's, but I'll stick with Troy. Lots of tables that needed clearing here too.

I'd say Olga's in general is one of my favorite chains, but the Fresh Market Grille is set up more as a quick service establishment. The food is always good but I think the traditional locations are a bit better as far as being waited on and having better service. Nonetheless, for a quick meal it's definitely a go to spot and the prices are fairly reasonable. My personal favorite is the original Olga, but you can't really go wrong with the menu.

Had a client bring in Olga's for a work lunch yesterday and I absolutely loved my Smoked Pork sandwich (Tortilla with Tangy barbecue-smoked pork, Cheddar, crispy onion straws...requested no pickle). It was a decent size, still fresh (after being driven to our workplace), and was delicious. I had always walked by Olga's locations without ever giving it a chance, now I'll be taking friends there for sure.

This is the only Olga's I've ever tried (cue the shock and awe, I know) and it's definitely A-OK. The pluses...all of the staff I've encountered are friendly and orders called in for carry-out (I've never eaten-in here) are done and ready pretty quickly, and they do offer curbside pick-up. The sandwiches (never had the Snackers, so can't comment/swoon) are delicious and filling, if a little on the pricy side for a wrap. Checking in on Yelp has gotten me two free desserts! The minuses...again, the food is a little pricey for what you get, and I haven't found that it's anything super-special...tasty, yes, but nothing remarkable. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way or wait in line for it, but it's a good option if you want to skip Micky D's...as long as you're willing to pay for it.

I used to work in the Continental Marketplace right next to Olga and her son (Bill?), at the health food store. Olga's food was delicious and reasonable. I went to the Southfield restaurant for awhile, but the conditions deteriorated, so I started going to the Woodward site. It was ok for awhile, but they stopped serving salad and/or fries with the carry-out main order and the main courses (Olga's) were dry and very ordinary, and the prices kept going up. I still have a major craving for Olga's but I can't justify the price for such a small amount of food. I would guess that Olga sold out and now the public is dealing with the cold attitudes of the corporate mentality. It's too bad because I used to eat a lot of Olga's food. Oh well - there's a zillion other restaurant's that want my money so I'll keep trying somewhere else. Respectfully

Ordered the tangy bbq smoked pork sandwich. Very disappointed. It was drenched in mustard. Nowhere on the menu was this indicated nor was it a mustard based bbq sauce. Would have ordered without mustard if it had been indicated as I do not like mustard. Ordered the pickle on the side and the receipt indicated as such, however no pickle was ever served/delivered to the table. My spouse ordered the spinach pie. It was a precooked brick that apparently appears to be microwaved. The fries were actually ok, but they were served cold. This visit was at 5:30pm and was not full at all. So no big rush of customers. Do not recommend this Olga's. If you do please beware.

There is a lot of truth in some of the so-so reviews on here but I still give them four stars because the food is usually very good for the price. One of the ways I believe they keep costs down is by employing a relatively young, inexperienced staff so you do sometimes need to repeat your order. Small price to pay when you consider how delicious the majority of their menu is. I'll spare my fellow Metro Detroiter's the lip service about how phenomenal the original olga is in itself. I order mine with extra meat and it's always spectacular. The snackers are flipping incredible and it's difficult to refrain from going on a stage 3 carb binge when they're anywhere in sight. I could eat 15 orders of them. The menu at this location has been updated in comparison to the Olga's you usually find in outdated shopping malls around town. They've followed in the steps of Pei Wei in terms of presenting their menu on flipped horizontal LCD screens and their selections are much healthier. In particular, the Gala Apple Pecan salad is a joy with dark, delicious greens and you can accentuate it with two full chicken breasts and still come out under $10. I'd also like to give a nod to the managers who are visibly hustling during busy times to keep things flowing while going the extra mile to meet and greet customers. I look forward to testing their patience when I fall on the floor from an overdose on snackers.

The food is acceptable, although one may argue a bit over priced for what you get. The customer service ranges from poor to good, but overall unremarkable. At the end of the day, we're giving a review of 1 star because we've ordered take-out only to find out our order was not complete on more than one occasion. Shame on us for not checking the order prior to driving away, but seriously? We e-mailed them once, they were extremely apologetic, wanted to make it right by sending us a coupon, of course that too never showed. Congrats Olga's, you deserve this one (star).

Went to Olga's Market Fresh to grab a salad for lunch. I got home and there were no shrimp on my salad so I called the store and told them, they apologized and offered to comp my next salad. I told her, that was OK but could I come get another salad with shrimp now? I told her not to worry about a FREE salad, could I simply have a free slice of spinach pie. She said no since that was not the problem. After driving back up to the restaurant to get the correct salad, I thought they would surprise me with the spinach pie anyway. NOT! What kind of service is this...my mistake, your cost? I live close to the restaurant but I will not be returning. Service is MARKETING!

I have never been this disappointed at Olgas. We have gone there at least twice a month for the past few years. The management is poor. Even after speaking with the manager about the quality of our food today, he laughed and said he'll pass on the message. Won't be going back.

I have never been to an Olga's before & this was my first visit. I have no complaints. A g.f. and I went here for a quick dinner on a week night at 6pm. There were a dozen people seated & 2 ppl in line ahead of us. We were all served quickly & the cashiers were very nice. The host (guy serving food) was working hard to get everyone's food out quickly & there were a few other employees cleaning tables promptly when ppl were finished; all staff seemed hard working and pleasant. I had the fresh veggie sandwich which is more of a wrap & opted for the small Olga salad instead of the fries. Total was $7.50 ish. The salad was really good, & I was very surprised with how much cheese was on it. The wrap was filled with fajita style veggies & red pepper hummus & very good. I was pleased with my choice. :) My friend had the grilled chicken & cheese sandwich which was piled with cheese (YUMMY) & tasted amazing. She also ordered the SNACKERS! OMG THE SNACKERS ARE THE BEST: YOU MUST TRY! The bathrooms were clean, the restaurant was clean, the staff was quick & friendly, & I will def. go back again. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE SNACKERS!

The first time I came here I was assuming it was a regular Olga's, well it's not and I was mad about it. The menu isn't as large as a traditional Olga's restaurant and you don't get snackers with your soup (giant fail), you order when you walk in and then the bring you your food. However, now that the shock of this new fangled concept has sunk in, I am ok with it. I came here with my 2 year old because I knew it would be faster than a regular restaurant and I have a small obsession with snackers. Their kid's meals are reasonably priced ($3-4) which is always nice, I hate spending $6-8 on a kid's meal. Though the mac & cheese is just Kraft out of the box, which is fine since my kid is not picky, but I appreciate when a kid's mac & cheese is something finer than what I can make at home for $1. Apparently everyone else with kids got the memo about this being a good place to take the family. By the time we left I think there were more kids than adults eating dinner. Our food came very fast, I was shocked how fast it came out. Everything was just as we ordered and tasted great. The added bonus was the amount of cheese that came with the snackers, at other Olga's I find that I have to carefully ration the cheese to my snackers or I could run out too soon. I had plenty of cheese and even some left over.

My wife loves Olga's. (Started with the original in Bham.) Olga's gift cards at Christmas are a winner with her. Asked my middle-school daughter what food she wanted me to bring to her "Eat & Run" Dad's lunch at school and she requested Olga's. After ordering takeout, two simple, standard sandwiches, I stood there (looking at an unappetizing large photo of what looked like battered fries or something) for over 20 minutes waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Could not figure out what those folks were doing behind the counter. A couple employees were playing games on their phones out in the seating area. Note, it was 10:30am (11:10am lunchtime at school) and no other customers were in the store. The food was just OK. but that store-empty wait time was not.

Love this place! I've been going since I was in high school and am disappointed the location in Birmingham is gone, but this location is usually easy to get into--parking can get a little congested at lunch. The Snackers are definitely a family favorite (though always order an extra side or two of the almond cheese because it never comes with enough). I have had a variety of the sandwiches too and have never been disappointed. Very easy to get a good meal here as a vegetarian, also.

Went to this location last night, awful! Food looked and tasted like it was just reheated and old. Very disappointing! We spent over $50 last night and not worth it, threw out most of it. Used to like this place, most likely not returning. What happened to this location?

Went for lunch on a snowy Sunday, we ordered and waited about fifteen minutes for our grub. Our perfect combos with half sandwich fries and Olga's salad was mediocre at best. The half chicken shawarma was bland, the lettuce leaves were brown, and the curly fries were room temp. The best thing about my lunch was the Pepsi from the fountain. Probably won't go back here.

Used to be great. My husband had bad experience few months ago . He ordered by phone and when showed up there was no order. they took a new order but what they gave him was all wrong. Tonight I talked my husband into giving them another try. I regretted it as now he's saying 'I told you so'. Waited a long time for my order. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. When my order was done it was wrong and missing my husbands sandwich. The food was not good. Salad was just iceberg lettuce with a couple olives.

I don't even know why I've bothered to come to this place more than once. Probably only out of pure convenience, as the food and the service are never very good. I've been here on three separate occasions because I love Olga's and this one is close to where I live. I always order something different in an attempt to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, everything I've had has been much less than good. The cheese olga was literally burnt to the point where I couldn't even eat it. The grilled chicken had the soggiest lettuce I've ever had the displeasure of eating on a sandwich. Plus, when my boyfriend and I ordered a big order of snackers to share they wouldn't even give us enough cheese for more than five snackers. Plus most of the people who work here are oblivious and rude. If you're thinking about stopping here, don't. You'll 100% regret that decision.

I asked for no feta cheese on the salad and there was feta on it when I received it plus the lettuce is wilted so I know it's been sitting for hours with the dressing on it.

I sometimes wish I could just eat Olga's bread and snackers all day. It really is that good! Then when you wrap proteins and veggies in that bread, game over!! This one in RO is great because its more like cafeteria style dining. You order your food, you get a number and they bring it to you. I have tried all of their sandwiches and they are all great! Its all because of that bread. I can eat those snackers all day, its really not normal. But for you healthy people, I must warn you that some of the sandwiches alone can reach about 900 calories. So do your research!! There is a fair amount of parking and service is great!

I love this place. The food is delicious. Who doesn't like a classic Olga sandwich? And the salads are awesome. I'm not a big fan of how you order at the register, then sit down and wait for them to serve you. But once you get your food, it's worth it. This is probably stupid but I don't care for the men's restroom. I get a distinct craving for Olga's once in awhile and this place doesn't disappoint.

Service has been consistently better since my last review. I'm am hooked to this location because regular Olga's Kitchen locations don't carry Red Pepper Hummus small plates. There is a different menu for Market Fresh Grille's and regular Olga Kitchen's so be sure when visiting.

Awful. I'm a loyal Olga's-goer. I've met her several times, and my family has been going there since its very first restaurant opened. That said, this new rendition on the traditional Olga's staples is awful. Service was miserable -- never met people more unenthused to work in food service -- and the food was clearly frozen and barely reheated. I will never come back to this location.

This is only a review on the carryout experience. I've been here plenty and had good food but i was so disappointed in my experience the other night. I broke my ankle over the weekend, so going out to eat let alone get groceries has been put on halt. I thought olgas carryout would saves the day- but was grossly let down. 2 of the salads had things that we asked to be left out in them. The sandwiches were sloppily put in their boxes with all the filling mostly out side the wrap. And all contained cheese even after multiple "NO cheese" requests. I had a hard enough time getting someone to go pick up the food and olgas was closed by the time we got the food home and realized the mistakes. Very bummed.

I walked in there to grab a quick bite for lunch as I was in the area. No "host/hostess" stand. I stood around trying to get someone's attention. Walked toward the back of the restaurant. Manager was oblivious. I walked out. I wouldn't go back to this location. Drive past it.

ok I did go to an Olga's taste testing - some those proposed were really good. Today I got the three cheese - my standard - fries and a salad for $6.49. Everything was well done and presented. The staff was friendly and efficient. I asked for extra sauce - no charge. I will definitely be going back. As I had carry out - I arrived exactly at the appointed time and less than a mile - my food was a little on the cool side - next time will arrive before suggested time. Went again 8/5 $1.89 for fries that tasted like cardboard. The three cheese Olga was tough for $6.79 WAY OVER PRICED for what you get - no wonder they are in bankruptcy.

I think this has become the Walmart of the dining world. This is family-friendly dining...I get that...I take my child here to eat too. But something about this store is a magnet for screaming children. I've been here at various times, lunch, dinner and in between. The cacophony of screaming children bouncing on the steel ceiling and smooth tile walls puts Chuck E Cheese to shame. How about a little sound deadening, Olga's. The repair bay at Midas has better acoustic qualities. As for the food, it too has slipped. Portions are smaller and the ingredients don't seem as fresh. My Original Olga was close to beef jerky, and the curly fries were curly cold. In fairness, I spoke to the manager about the food, and he apologized, as a new crew was being trained. My sum of this experienced as defined by the cubic-shaped mother that stood at the drink fountain and guzzled 3 glasses of root beer before looking to see if anyone was waiting. Then it was an guttural, UGH...as she shuffled across the dirty floor in broken flip-flops. Welcome to Olgas.

This Olga's, even though it is a different "concept," has that wonderful bread that you remember and those delicious Snackers -- and it's a good thing they do, because I probably wouldn't come here otherwise. Food is solid but most everything else about this place is So. Annoying. For example: this place is sllllllllllllloooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww. The past four times I've come in to pick up lunch (after the lunch rush, between 2pm and 3pm), I've waited at least ten minutes for my take-out order (once close to twenty!). I understand that this place ain't no McDonalds, but honestly, ten minutes is a bit much when the restaurant isn't busy. I get scared thinking about coming here during the actual lunch rush time. Additionally, it bums me out that I can't order just a cup/bowl of soup. I always have to get it with the Snackers. Yes! I know they are delicious, but sometimes I just want the Peasant soup. (I am cheap.) I was also bummed out when I learned that the Costco gift cards aren't accepted here. I do not understand this, and haven't yet received a reason from the people I ask in the restaurant. The prices aren't much different (are they different?) from a regular Olga's, and the food is about the same... so, yeah, they should take the Costco gift cards! One of these days, Olga's, I'm going to remember the wasted minutes waiting for your food and your inability to accept Costco gift cards . . . but who are we kidding, I will come back because I live about a minute away and those Snackers are SO GOOD. Ack.

Even tho the salad I came for today is no longer on the menu--arugula :( --they honored a coupon for free snackers! I also decided to try the tabbouleh and they use quinoa instead of bulgur wheat; it's a quite nice recipe!

I know this is the direction that Olga's seems to be going in, and if that's the case I'll have to move on. The food is not the same as the "original restaurants," only the pitas are the same awesomeness. The Olga's sauce doesn't even taste the same -- how can that be? I've tried this location a few times and this will be the last. I keep expecting what I'm used to, and it never delivers. Plus, in their infinite wisdom, the Birmingham location is being closed. They had some really friendly people working there, as well as at the Southfield location. I waited over 5 minutes for someone to even show up at the ordering station, and it took a few minutes for the manager who was standing right next to it to say that someone would be with me shortly. The staff definitely isn't as friendly as the full-service version. Plus the music alternates between loud enough that it's hard to carry on a conversation and too loud to think. I'm not sure how techno at eardrum-breaking volumes helps the experience -- maybe I'm not hip anymore. Then there's the food. As I mentioned before, it's not the same and it takes a long time to make it to the table. You have to ask for shakers of garlic and cayenne, and they arrive in dirty shakers that look like they came from a rummage sale. The salad is not the same and made with tired looking lettuce with less feta than usual, and the sandwich has long pieces of romaine lettuce and looks sloppy. Olga's -- if you're reading (and it appears that you do), please try and inject some spirit (and flavor) from the traditional locations into this new concept or you've got a lot of problems and will lose customers (including me). I don't mind updates, but if you lose what makes you Olga's then you're just another sandwich shop, and there is a lot of competition in that area.

I've been a Olga's customer since I was a kid sitting on the floor in the original shop in downtown Birmingham. Great food that's a change of pace from the standard subs, burgers and pizza. Since they closed the store in Birmingham, I've been to this new location multiple times. Food is still what you expect (minus the reduced menu), but the service is terrible. They have NEVER gotten a carryout order right yet. They have NEVER brought the food out on curb side order. The bags are packed like they don't know what's in the containers and everything is tipped on their sides (running out in the bag) and missing sides (never have gotten dressing for the house salad). Go in if your craving an original. Go in if you're getting carryout... check you bags/containers. Love the food, Dislike the service... enough to write about it.

This re-configured Olga's is a lot less pleasant than the second Birmingham location on Old Woodward. The lack of waitstaff means all ordering is done at a cahsier stand like the Wendy's that originally occupied the space, and after waiting in line with a mixture of Birmingham and R.O. Soccer Mom types, (mixed with Beaumont Hospital staff that just want the latters kids to be quiet,) you are given a Ponderosa steakhouse style number, and self seat in a dining room that is usally crowded and/or dirty, as the servers double as bus staff and cashier alike WITHOUT being tipped in anyway, (which KILLS iniative AND courtesy.) Throw in the pseudo hip piped in music, and marraudering children, and this can be a very unpleasant place to eat an overpriced Gyro. Go in before it gets busy, and be nice to the poor b*st*rds that staff the joint? Very mellow. Olga is her own worst enemy with her obvious cheap attitude...

I find Olga's Fresh Market Grille a refreshing change from the traditional Olga's concept. My experience thus far has resulted in a shorter in and out time, and service leaps and bounds above what I've grown used to receiving at Olga's of late. I also feel like the new concept is much more family friendly - as the food came out quickly after we ordered. (Definitely a positive when you have a 2 year old in tow) There are some changes in the menu, but I wonder if it has been missed that prices have been changed accordingly as well. The Olga's are less expensive than the traditional sit-down Olga's, and include fries or a side salad - which are also normally an up-charge. It does appear as though they do not carry their white chicken chili, which is odd to me as I think of that as an Olga's staple. Perhaps they'll change their mind once the winter months roll around?? While I agree that the new concept might come with a few growing pains- I plan on making this my regular Olga's rather than the original Olga's stores.

Yes...I know its Olga's. If you are from the Metro Detroit Area I am SURE you are familiar with Olga's. HOWEVER. It seems Olga's has adopted a new concept at "Fresh Market Grille" and I really think it works well for them. Olga's Fresh Market Grille opened 2 days ago with a concept that I have not seen before in their other establishments. It's kind of has a Pei Wei/Panera/Noodles & Company...etc sort of vibe. You know...order at the counter...get a number...and someone brings your food out to you. When you walk in the door there is a electronic menu board (it looks pretty snazzy). This is so you can read up on the eats before you actually get in line. Once in line there is another menu board over the registers. They have everything any other Olga's would have. It might just be because they are new...but every single employee seemed to bend over backwards for you. There was someone standing by the front door explaining how everything worked. The people bringing out your food were extremely nice and speedy. There was always someone roaming around the dining area looking to take away empty dishes....and everyone always had a smile on their face. I am an Olga's fan (i know some people are not...but I am!) and the food tasted great. Just what I would expect from an Olga's. They have an open kitchen so you can see all the fresh food being made....and it seems to be done in record speed. I have to admit. I was really impressed with the setup. Its very comfy and welcoming inside. They have free wifi. They even have an outdoor seating area for when the weather gets warm. Win. Win. Win. This concept WORKS for Olga's and it works well. If anyone from Olga's headquarters happens to stumble across this review I definitely give you a thumbs up and STRONGLY suggest you implement this at all of your stores. I think it works perfectly for your food.

I love Olga's, but this place is horrible. We were second in line, there was a open register and a guy in a purple button down (manager?) playing on his iPhone. Seems like he could have been taking our order. If it ended there, I would have not been compelled to leave this review. When our food arrived, it looked ok. My zucchini fries and peasant soup were excessively greasy. My boyfriend's original Olga was missing the produce and sauce and our friends burger had a hair in it. When we asked for the complete version of the sandwich they gave him a cup of sauce and called it good. No one came to check on us. I would have asked to talk to the manager but judging by the reaction received from our complete sandwich inquiry - it seemed like a lost cause. So many places to choose from - don't waste your time.

The Royal Oak Woodward location has provided me with the worst Olga's experience I have ever had before. I placed a carryout order over the phone at 3:10 for 2 sandwiches and a basket of snackers. I asked the guy on the phone if they had Suncoast Smoothies at that location, and he said yes, so I told him I would pick what kind when I got there. When I arrived, they did not even know what Suncoast Smoothies were, and apologized for whomever took my order for misinforming me. This was frustrating because I would have gone to a different location had he correctly informed me. Then I sat on a bench waiting for my order even though the ETA given to me over the phone was 15-20 minutes. While I sat there I noticed how employees just stood around doing nothing and the restaurant was empty. I also noticed that the cooks moved slower than I have ever seen restaurant employees move in my life. So I figured my order was taking extra time since they appeared so sluggish. Eventually when someone who came in after me walked out with fresh hot food, I decided to question the employees about my order. I had also noticed after looking at my phone that exactly 40 minutes had passed since my order was placed. I was given confused looks while employees looked around for my food, which eventually was found already bagged up sitting on a rack next to the kitchen. So my order was sitting on the rack since I had arrived, just getting cold and losing freshness. The employee apologized and offered to ask the kitchen to remake the order, which I declined due to their sluggish pace and my already spending 45 minutes obtaining a carryout. So I paid 20 bucks and went home to microwave my no longer hot and fresh food. The thing that is so disturbing is that the entire time the place was littered with employees, including the manager herself, standing around doing nothing. The manager seemed completely disinterested in how or why I sat there so long, and did not even approach when she saw what happened. She just stood around with her back to me doing menial tasks, and not managing anything. I cannot believe she is allowed to manage a restaurant.

We tried the new Olgas concept yesterday and had a decent lunch. It was crowded, and clearly they are going through some growing pains. Like the other reviewers have mentioned, it's the same Olgas food. In my book that's a positive thing. I love the lamb flavor in the Peasant Soup. The bread is also great. For the price, the portions are pretty small. The somewhat ugly modern chairs were freakishly comfortable. The music was way too loud. They have a promising patio for when the weather warms up.

Dishes I like: - White Bean Chicken Chili Soup & Snackers Combo (You get lots of snackers; at least 15 "slices" and the chicken in the soup is more shredded than chunky) - Spinach & Cheese Pie - Asian Chicken Sandwich (Lots of good veggies I like and flavorful. I've always had good service, dining in and out. And the food tastes the same as Olga's Kitchen. No complaints so far!

I think if I had never been to a full service Olga's I wouldn't have left feeling so unhappy but I have and I did. The whole experience from beginning to end was just weird. I don't get the fast-food/cafeteria style thing they're going for here.. It's Olga's not high school. I ordered at the counter and was given a number but wasn't told what to do next, so I waited for my order. Eventually an employee noticed me waiting and somewhat snottily told me the food would be brought to me. Ok so I sat down and waited and waited for the food and when it finally came it was wrong, but before i could tell the guy he was gone and no one was going around so I had to walk up to the counter to tell them it was wrong and got a snotty response again. I think this concept is the root of their issue here. They need to decide either to make it a full service restaurant or more like a McDonald's because the way it is now leaves one confused as to what they do and do not need to do for themselves. The food was ok but not up to the standards of any of the other Olga's I've been to. I don't think I'll be back :(

I have not been back to my home town in 11 years. The only place that I wanted to make sure that I got my gastro fill in on was 'Olga's'. When I was just a young thang, hanging with my girlfriend's on a Saturday shopping downtown Birmingham, this was our lunch spot. I can't believe I used to order the 3 cheese! My thighs are just getting fat thinking of that...anyhow, had to get the classic Olga's salad, the original, spinach pie and had some peasant soup (which I never usually ordered before, however, the exception since the cold AZ chick needed to warm up). My taste buds were revived and Olga's did not disappoint. Boy, would it be nice to have a location in AZ. Did get the salad dressing to go...yum yum!!

Made a return visit after being contacted by Olga's customer service. They wanted a second chance to rectify the problems of our first experience. I must say, food was fresh and good and service was really great. They truly did absolutely everything they could to make us happy. A class act.

You need to know that "Market Fresh Grille" stands for "cafeteria style." I ordered my food, they gave me a table number and then I sat down. A few minutes later, everything was brought out at once. There are no "baskets" of snackers, but only small plates. This place is set up like a mall cafeteria. This is convenient if you are in a hurry, but not really "nice." I much prefer the classic restaurant style. I had no problem with the service or the food. They have MOST of the original menu there. However, the vibe was just not what I was looking for when going out to eat. I didn't want "fast food," I wanted a meal. I will probably not go back for that reason.

I have always been an Olga fan. It used to be that their prices seemed out of line, but now in line with the rest of it's competitors. Similar to Pei-Wei that Sarah mentioned in her review. The $6.99 Olga Sandwich or gyro ($7.78 with a good portion of cheese) is a decent value and the taste is really great. Rest of our food was tasty and fresh made. Sides are good - the sweet potato fries are excellent (portions a tiny bit larger would make the $2.99 price a bit more reasonable) and the arugula salad was also well done. I agree with the reviewer that mentioned some problems with ordering and the crowd. It was ABUNDANTLY clear that the crew was still getting used to having customers, but I think they will iron that out in short order with the number of people coming in! One suggestion to the manager - TURN OFF the damn music during dinner rush. Turn it down or change from loud pop-rock to something a little less obtrusive. It was making everyone jumpy - you could see how tense every one was. Soothing is supposed to be the message NOT 80's dance club music - I assume. We ordered on the web and the transaction was pretty painless - placed web order - showed up, paid and food was ready and hot just about 5 minutes later than online time specified. Dinner for two people - 2 Olgas w/ cheese including, 1 with a salad and 1 with soup included, and 2 sides (Sweet Potato fries, Arugula salad) Total was $24. More expensive that than 'burger' fast-food by about $10 but well worth the difference and we would have foregone the sides except we wanted to try them, so we will probably spend $4-5 less next time. The space is great and new and the patio is really nice. We're not talking fine dining here, but certainly a welcome option to its competitors and better than 'fast' food.

Olga's!!! Why have you changed sooo much? It's like the best friend that you remember being soo cool when you were younger then you see them again when they are older and they are working at McDonalds. Such a disappointment that Olga's grew up to be THIS. Please bring the old style back. So let me get this straight Olga's marketing team; you decided it was better to make it so that you order at the front like Burger King and they bring your food out, no tips anymore, but no experienced server that is familiar with the menu and working with people to make the customer happy, and ABSURD prices now. So I have to pay nearly twice as much as it used to be for the same food, but now when I want to order more, my food isn't right, I need a box, etc., I have to ask some scummy guy with a bleach bottle cleaning OR I can wait in line again and talk to the CRABBY girl I gave my order to that rolled her eyes every time she is asked to do something. No thank you. Can't I pay a reasonable amount for my food again and tip a good server that makes my trip worth coming? At least the food is good...

This restaurant is always consistent. The food is fast and fresh, not to mention delicious. A perfect alternative to gross fast food places. The staff is friendly and strive to make sure you have a positive dining experience. I will definitely be going back in the near future.

I love Olga's! I can remember the good old days when it was open in East Land Mall and my family used to go there to eat. The menu at Market Fresh Grill is a bit different from the traditional Olga's menu, but the core foods are still there! Try the zucchini fries and the original Olga. You will fall in love instantly! I have to admit that the first time I went here, they screwed up my order, but the manager payed for my entire meal the next time around and apologized. Now that is great service! I do hope that they change their spinach pie back to the original recipe because the current one is not that good. That being said, overall, this place is awesome! Especially with curb side delivery! What more could you ask for?

What happen to this place I use to love their food. New look. less food, more cost poor service. Cant like this place!!! I want to, but everything is less then their promise, less food and not friendly. I cant say anything good about this place. The sad thing is this was a great place at one time and it's a Detroit original. I want it to be great we need great place here and this is just sad because it had a great program at one time.

They got my order wrong. I called back and they had me on hold. I told them what the problem was and they said they would replace my order. Well, I went back the next week and they gave me a hard time about replacing my order. The manager never apologized for the inconvenience or anything. The orange cooler was gross and tasted like the orange peelings. I told the manager I would never be back due to the lack of hospitality, he just looked and humped his shoulders. Plus it took them a long time to prepare my order. Thumbs down!!!

I wouldn't normally review an Olga's, but this location is unique enough to warrant a closer look. Most Olga's restaurants are sit-down establishments that are reminiscent of your typical diner / coney experience. You wait to be seated (or during slow periods, seat yourself), a server takes your order and brings you drinks, and you pay at the table. Olga's Fresh Market Grill takes the same menu and changes up the entire service experience. You wait in line at a register, give your order to the cashier, pay up front, and then you go find a table to sit at while your food is being prepared. Your food is then delivered to you when its ready. If you have ever been to a Pei Wei or a Noodles & Company then you are already familiar with the way this works. The idea here is to streamline the whole process and get everyone in & out quicker. For the most part, they succeed. When I came here with my girlfriend, there was a pretty long line all the way to the door. There are vertical high-definition monitors in the standing area that display menus for you to look at while you are waiting. One of the monitors displays recent Foursquare check-ins along the bottom of the screen. I thought this was a nice touch, and it encouraged people to check-in. It does not, however, display Yelp or Facebook check-ins. We ended up waiting in line for quite some time, as they only had one of their two registers open. After we placed our order though, our food came out very quickly. I would guess that we spent far more time waiting to place our order than we did waiting for our food to arrive. The food is the same stuff you get from any Olga's. It's delicious, and cheap. We ordered two Olga's sandwiches, snackers, a salad, spinach pie, zucchini fries, and two drinks. The total was around $22 and change. Not bad at all for the amount of food we received! I'm tempted to give this place only 3 stars for the service kinks, but i'm going to round up to 4 on account of this being a brand new concept from Olga's. I think they have handled it amazingly well and i'm sure they will improve. In fact, after we sat down they opened a 2nd register and the line diminished quickly. I guess we just got there a few minutes too early.

Unlike a typical sit-down Olga's, you order at the counter and wait for them to bring the food to your table. Much faster than a traditional restaurant, but certainly not fast food. It has all the standard Olga's fare, and I loved it all. The pitas are just incredible, and anything you get with it has that fantastic flavor. And let's not forget the snackers, or the orange cooler. I would get very fat very fast if I lived down the street. The prices are pretty good, too. The ambiance isn't bad, but the volume of music was a real issue--in the bathroom, my son wanted to cover his ears it was so bad. And in the evening the glare of sunlight makes the restaurant almost uninhabitable. But, I'm glad that this former Wendy's site is now home to a great place.

I have never been this disappointed at Olgas. We have gone there at least twice a month for the past few years. The management is poor. Even after speaking with the manager about the quality of our food today, he laughed and said he'll pass on the message. Won't be going back.

Debra

Great food. Bad service. It's a broken record when it comes to the takeout service. I won't do it again. My Olaga had crusty hard meat, missing items from the order or not made as requested. Such a disappointment, for the 10th time...

(2)Debra B.

(1)Karol C.
Disappointed. The zucchini fries were very soggy from all the grease; chicken wrap had brown lettuce and the chicken did not taste good. Cost seems too high considering the lack of quality.
(1)Mike O.
(1)E H.
I LOVE this place! I come here at least once a week for lunch and the bread is always fluffy and fresh. The cookies are always good and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place. Also, sign up for the Olga's rewards card, I always get coupons.

Just yummy bread

I had a Tuscan Steakburger today, and it was fantastic. The service was great-friendly and quick, and the food was wonderful. My only complaint-the a/c was up just a little to high.
(5)Karen W.

(3)Josh G.
(3)Alex M.
(5)Christina G.
We have been here quite a few times and always had great service and food. Used curbside pick up today for some super bowl snacks. Awesome!
(5)Amby M.

(2)Jeff C.
(1)Terry K.
(4)S W.

(1)Ivy F.
I have never been this disappointed at Olgas. We have gone there at least twice a month for the past few years. The management is poor. Even after speaking with the manager about the quality of our food today, he laughed and said he'll pass on the message. Won't be going back.
(3)Meghan B.
(4)Betsy A.

(2)Catherine C.
(5)Melissa M.
Went to this location last night, awful! Food looked and tasted like it was just reheated and old. Very disappointing! We spent over $50 last night and not worth it, threw out most of it. Used to like this place, most likely not returning. What happened to this location?
(1)Christopher P.
(2)E J.
(1)Amber M.
(1)Peter F.
I asked for no feta cheese on the salad and there was feta on it when I received it plus the lettuce is wilted so I know it's been sitting for hours with the dressing on it.
(1)Nichole W.
Just did curbside to go. They were awesome. bagged my orders individually and was ready when I got there. Way to go Olga's!
(5)Candice K.
(4)Toby J.
(4)Nina M.
Service has been consistently better since my last review. I'm am hooked to this location because regular Olga's Kitchen locations don't carry Red Pepper Hummus small plates. There is a different menu for Market Fresh Grille's and regular Olga Kitchen's so be sure when visiting.
(4)Alexandra K.
(2)A. N.
(1)Faris Q.
I walked in there to grab a quick bite for lunch as I was in the area. No "host/hostess" stand. I stood around trying to get someone's attention. Walked toward the back of the restaurant. Manager was oblivious. I walked out. I wouldn't go back to this location. Drive past it.
(1)Suzanne S.
ok I did go to an Olga's taste testing - some those proposed were really good.

(3)Elizabeth S.

(4)Nela K.

(2)B W.
This restaurant is always consistent. The food is fast and fresh, not to mention delicious. A perfect alternative to gross fast food places. The staff is friendly and strive to make sure you have a positive dining experience. I will definitely be going back in the near future.
(5)Vic N.
(4)Pete D.
(1)Tracy c.

(4)Derek M.
(4)Karen W.
(3)Blaise B.

(3)Josh G.
(3)Alex M.
(5)Christina G.
We have been here quite a few times and always had great service and food. Used curbside pick up today for some super bowl snacks. Awesome!
(5)Amby M.

(2)Catherine C.
(5)Melissa M.
Went to this location last night, awful! Food looked and tasted like it was just reheated and old. Very disappointing! We spent over $50 last night and not worth it, threw out most of it. Used to like this place, most likely not returning. What happened to this location?
(1)Christopher P.
(2)E J.
(1)Amber M.
(4)Toby J.

Ack.
(3)Margie W.

(2)David L.
(2)Kristoffer D.
(2)Valerie G.

(3)Elizabeth S.
(5)Kimberly H.

(4)Roanne S.
Made a return visit after being contacted by Olga's customer service. They wanted a second chance to rectify the problems of our first experience. I must say, food was fresh and good and service was really great. They truly did absolutely everything they could to make us happy. A class act.
(4)Nela K.
(3)Ivy F.
I have never been this disappointed at Olgas. We have gone there at least twice a month for the past few years. The management is poor. Even after speaking with the manager about the quality of our food today, he laughed and said he'll pass on the message. Won't be going back.
(3)Anthony D.
(4)Derek M.
(4)Cindy L.
(2)Debra B.
Debra

(4)Kathy L.
No need to go to any other location. This store is constantly improving since the day they opened. They listen to every suggestion and improve. This is by far the best carry out too. Everyone is extremely friendly and always smiling. Thank you Olga's!
(5)S B.
(3)Dave M.
(4)Karl L.
Great food. Bad service. It's a broken record when it comes to the takeout service. I won't do it again. My Olaga had crusty hard meat, missing items from the order or not made as requested. Such a disappointment, for the 10th time...
(2)Liane H.
I had a Tuscan Steakburger today, and it was fantastic. The service was great-friendly and quick, and the food was wonderful. My only complaint-the a/c was up just a little to high.
(5)Stephanie S.

(1)Karol C.
Disappointed. The zucchini fries were very soggy from all the grease; chicken wrap had brown lettuce and the chicken did not taste good. Cost seems too high considering the lack of quality.
(1)Mike O.
(1)E H.
I LOVE this place! I come here at least once a week for lunch and the bread is always fluffy and fresh. The cookies are always good and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place. Also, sign up for the Olga's rewards card, I always get coupons.

Just yummy bread
